This Train the Trainer program will set you up to run your own business training others in the important area of suicide prevention, or ensure you have all the resources your organisation or community need to make a difference in the lives of others.

Suicide is a public health issue that affects individuals, families, communities and work environments across Australia. . This Train the Trainer program will set you up to run your own business training others in the important area of suicide prevention. The CALM training programs are being engaged by organisations across Australia. Your passion and expertise will help make a difference to this landscape and provide you with an alternative career choice for your future.

The T4T is effectively delivered over a 4-day period face-to-face OR over a 5-day period virtually, and provides you with the skills, resources, knowledge and support to deliver the CALM 1-day suicide intervention  skills program and the CALM Care suicide awareness program. T4T participants gain an understanding and workable knowledge of the theories, principles and models that underpin the programs; are able to grasp and demonstrate their ability to explain and use the CALM model of intervention and lastly gain confidence in their ability to competently deliver both programs to their audiences.

Workshop Duration

The T4T is effectively delivered over a 4-day period face-to-face OR over a 5-day period virtually. CALM Trainer accreditation presented virtually requires your attendance for two half days on day 1 and day 2, and attendance for full days 3 and 5. Accreditation for CALM Care requires your attendance for full days 4 and 5.

What You Will Learn:

DAY 1

When delivered face-to-face the CALM one-day program will be delivered in its entirety to give you a view of the one day presentation from a participants perspective and provide reflection and feedback.

  • When delivered virtually the one-day program will be presented over two half days to account for virtual fatigue and ensuring participants can consolidate their learnings.

DAY 2

Each component of the model will be explained and explored in full detail covering the evidence and practice theories that underpins and informs the model.

DAY 3

The CALM Care half-day program will be delivered in its entirety to provide a comprehensive overview. The difference between programs, evidence and delivery will be outlined. The afternoon focuses on the organising, planning, preparing and arranging of a  CALM / CALM Care workshop.

DAY 4

Each participant will have the opportunity to practice and present a section of the program to ensure they have understood the intent and delivery method of the CALM and or CALM Care model, as well as enabling them to gain confidence and peer feedback on their presentation styles.

A certificate of accreditation, a comprehensive trainers manual, trainers PowerPoint presentation with trainer notes, a detailed guide of preparing for a workshop, videos, a 24-page CALM workbook and wallet card, full access to two apps; Be Safe, and Be Calm, video demonstrations for different cohorts, role-play scenarios, bookings spreadsheet, attendance templates, certificate templates, ice breaker cards, safety plan template, burn-out scale, email template with pre-reading material, promotional posters, flyers, and helpful marketing tips.

CALM Care Trainers receive:

A certificate of accreditation, a comprehensive trainers manual, trainers PowerPoint presentation with trainer notes, videos, a 16-page CALM Care reference booklet,  full access to the Calm Care app, plus a complete set of resources for your participants including, bookings spreadsheet, attendance templates, certificate templates email templates, promotional flyers, posters, helpful marketing tips.
