Virtual Accidental Counselling course from 9am-12:30pm on two consecutive Fridays.
Special focus: people working in disability or employment provider sector. Although the content remains the same, the information and discussion will be contextualised for some unique elements of this industry.

Who is Accidental Counselling for?
Have you found yourself in a situation where you don’t know what to say or how to respond to a client, colleague or direct report?
People who work in a helping capacity but who are not university-trained psychology-based allied professionals find this course useful. This could include roles such as youth workers, support workers, employment consultants, customer facing admin roles, customer complaint teams, managers/ team leaders, and HR staff.
Accidental counselling offers practical skills related to listening and supporting people that help your customers or teams feel respected, heard and listened to. It also equips attendees to cope with crises their clients may be experiencing. We also discuss boundaries and self-care as an essential component of any helping relationship.
