Oftentimes there are subtle signs that someone is struggling with life, and when these feelings become unbearable, they may start thinking suicide is their only option.
This 3.5-hour CALM Care program teaches you how to be suicide aware and recognise when someone may be thinking about ending their life and steps you can take to support them.
Delivered in person or virtually via Zoom or Teams, this course will help you recognise the subtle warning signs that are often missed or overlooked, how to approach them, make a connection, and know what to say. Above all, it will equip you to confidently put your hand up, when someone is signalling they are in crisis.

Kim did a wonderful job at running us through the training. She was able to answer questions and I felt that she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you Kim for your time and the opportunity to be a part of this. I now feel confident with all my knowledge.
I think that the additional component to listening rather the asking ‘do you have a plan’ is valuable to the suicide conversation.
